The Western Worker Cooperative Conference is a bi-annual event that fosters education and information sharing among worker co-ops and promotes sustainable development of the co-op movement. Workshop themes range from basic topics related to starting and operating a worker co-op to those that improve communication and operation, and others that explore the worker cooperative model in the larger social context. The conference emphasizes the importance of skill and knowledge sharing among members of worker cooperatives.
The conference site, Breitenbush Hot Springs is a wilderness retreat and conference center operated by an intentional community organized as a worker co-op. Located east of Salem, Oregon, it features forest trails, wood cabins, fresh vegetarian food, relaxing hot tubs, steam sauna, and free daily well-being programs.
On Monday, 9/5 conference check-in begins at 3pm, you may check into your cabin at 4pm. The conference begins at dinner @ 6pm. The conference runs through Wednesday, 9/7 @ 3pm.

Registration includes: Conference fees, vegetarian meals (vegan options), use of the hot springs and steam sauna per person beginning on September 5th with dinner and ending at 3pm on September 7th. Registration: $250; Additional accommodation charges: Cabins: $135; Dorm or Platform Tent: $30; Own Tent: No additional charge.
A fitted sheet is included in cabin and dorm rental, you may bring your additional bedding and towel or rent them from Breitenbush for $16 per person/$22 couple.
Limited funds are available for scholarships, which reduce the conference registration fees. Applications will be based on funds available with consideration to co-op affiliation, need and time of application.*

Scholarships will be based on funds available and the number of applicants with consideration to co-op affiliation, need and time of application. Please contribute as much as possible from your own funds toward the conference fee so that scholarships can be provided to as many applicants as possible. Please complete & submit the registration form and1) include a brief statement of your financial reasons for requesting a scholarship; 2) how you plan to use information and experiences from the conference; and 3) fill in the following: I can pay $_______ and request scholarship funds to cover the remaining fee. Deadline: August 15 (please submit as early as possible).
Travel Suggestions:
If you plan to travel by air, please make plane reservations in and out of the Portland Airport and allow at least 2.5 to 3 hours travel time between Portland and Breitenbush. Breitenbush has a rideshare program through their website at: http://www.breitenbush.com/rideshare — the user name and password will be provided with your registration confirmation.
